The RUST-OLEUM 9186300 is a two-component, direct-to-metal (DTM) epoxy mastic coating formulated for high-performance corrosion and chemical protection. This 5-gallon unit delivers a tough, durable surface in a navy gray gloss finish using a convenient 1:1 mixing ratio that eliminates separate measuring. A single coat is engineered to match the protective output of multiple coats of conventional epoxy, making it a practical choice for industrial and commercial maintenance painting. Licensed contractors and industrial painters apply this product across steel, concrete, and a variety of other substrates where long-term resistance to solvents, chemicals, abrasion, and impact is required.
This coating is suited for industrial facilities, commercial buildings, food processing environments, and marine or immersion applications depending on the activator selected. It meets USDA requirements for incidental food contact and is accepted for use in federally registered Canadian food facilities. Multiple activator options extend the coating's use to low-temperature conditions (40 to 60 degrees F), fast-cure scheduling (recoat in 4 hours at 70 degrees F and 50% RH), standard air and surface temps of 50 to 100 degrees F, and fresh or salt water immersion of steel or concrete where water temperatures do not exceed 125 degrees F. It is also suited for floor-coating applications.
Designed for application over metal, concrete, and a variety of prepared substrates. Compatible activators are sold separately and include Standard, Immersion, Low-Temperature, and Fast-Cure options. The Immersion Activator is not approved for use in potable water tanks.
This product is a two-component system — the base color and activator must be ordered and mixed separately before application. Industrial painters and maintenance coating contractors should ensure surfaces are properly cleaned and prepared prior to application per the product data sheet. Power down or lock out any equipment in the work area as required by site safety protocols before coating begins. Follow all applicable local ventilation and VOC compliance regulations for your region.
