The RUST-OLEUM 9182300 is a two-component, direct-to-metal (DTM) epoxy mastic coating sold in a 5-gallon container in a Silver Gray gloss finish. Part of the 9100 System, this coating is self-priming and bonds directly to metal, concrete, and a variety of other substrates without a separate primer coat. It delivers superior long-term resistance to solvents, chemicals, abrasion, and impact in a single application. The 1:1 mixing ratio by volume eliminates field measuring. Multiple activator options let installers match cure profile and application conditions to the job. This product is sold as base coat only; activator is ordered separately.
The 9182300 is suited for industrial and commercial maintenance painting applications including structural steel, equipment, storage tanks, and concrete floors. Four activator options are available depending on job conditions: Standard Activator for air and surface temperatures of 50 to 100 degrees F, Low-Temperature Activator for temperatures of 40 to 60 degrees F, Fast-Cure Activator with recoat in 4 hours at 70 degrees F and 50 percent relative humidity, and an Immersion Activator for fresh or salt water immersion of steel or concrete where water temperatures do not exceed 125 degrees F. The coating meets USDA requirements for incidental food contact and is accepted for use in federally registered Canadian food facilities. VOC content is below 340 grams per liter.
Designed for use with RUST-OLEUM 9100 System activators sold separately; compatible with metal and concrete substrates in industrial, commercial, and maintenance coating applications. Not intended for use in potable water tanks.
Application should be performed by qualified painting contractors or maintenance professionals familiar with two-component epoxy systems. Power down or de-energize any electrical equipment in the work area before surface preparation and application. Confirm air and surface temperatures fall within the selected activator range before mixing; pot life is limited once components are combined. Follow all local VOC regulations and ventilation requirements for enclosed spaces during application.
