The RUST-OLEUM 9133402 is a single-component epoxy mastic coating formulated for rust prevention and corrosion protection on metal and concrete surfaces. Supplied in a 1-gallon can with a gloss finish in green, this coating bonds directly to metal without a separate primer, cutting labor time on prep-heavy jobs. It carries a VOC content of 340 g/L and delivers 100 to 225 square feet of coverage per gallon depending on application method. An activator is required but not included. Tack-free dry time is 20 minutes, with full cure reached at 26 hours and a recoat window opening at 72 hours. Licensed painting contractors, industrial maintenance crews, and trade professionals apply this product in both interior and exterior environments.
This coating is suited for use on steel and concrete substrates in industrial, commercial, and heavy-maintenance settings where direct-to-metal application and long-term rust inhibition are priorities. It performs across a wide temperature application range of 50 degrees F to 120 degrees F, making it practical for most field conditions. Indoor and outdoor use is supported. The gloss green finish is commonly specified for equipment, structural steel, tanks, and secondary containment surfaces. Compatible activators listed by the supplier include part numbers 07836737, 00243543, 00243568, and 00243527.
Designed for use on steel and concrete surfaces. Requires an activator; compatible activators include supplier part numbers 07836737, 00243543, 00243568, and 00243527. Not for use without the specified activator.
Application is typically performed by painting contractors or industrial maintenance technicians familiar with two-component coating systems. Surface preparation is critical — steel should be cleaned of mill scale, rust, oil, and grease prior to application, following standard surface prep practices. Do not apply below 50 degrees F or above 120 degrees F. Mix activator thoroughly per manufacturer directions before use, and observe the recoat window of 72 hours when applying multiple coats.
