The RUST-OLEUM 9105405 is a two-component, direct-to-metal (DTM) epoxy mastic coating in red gloss finish, sold in a 1-gallon container. It applies directly to metal and other substrates without a separate primer, building a tough, chemically resistant film in a single coat. The 1:1 mixing ratio eliminates field measuring. This product is intended for use by professional painters, industrial maintenance crews, and facilities maintenance technicians working on structural steel, equipment, and concrete surfaces that require long-term corrosion and chemical protection.
This coating is suited for industrial and commercial maintenance painting where resistance to solvents, chemicals, abrasion, and impact is required. Typical applications include structural steel, process equipment, secondary containment, and floor surfaces in facilities subject to harsh service conditions. Multiple activator options are available separately, covering standard temperatures (50 to 100 degrees F), low-temperature conditions (40 to 60 degrees F), immersion service in fresh or salt water, and fast-cure applications where recoat in 4 hours at 70 degrees F and 50 percent relative humidity is needed. The coating meets USDA requirements for incidental food contact and is accepted for use in federally registered Canadian food facilities.
Designed for direct application to metal and concrete substrates in industrial and commercial maintenance painting. Compatible activators include the Standard Activator, Immersion Activator, Low-Temperature Activator, and Fast-Cure Activator, each sold separately. The Immersion Activator is suitable for fresh or salt water immersion of steel or concrete where water temperatures do not exceed 125 degrees F; it is not for use in potable water tanks.
This is a two-component system — the base color and activator must be ordered and mixed separately before application. Surface preparation to the appropriate SSPC standard is recommended prior to coating for best adhesion and service life. Apply only when air and surface temperatures are within the range specified for the selected activator. Ensure adequate ventilation during mixing and application, and follow all applicable local and federal safety regulations for solvent-borne coatings.
