The RUST-OLEUM 9104402 is a Fast-Cure Activator designed for use with the Rust-Oleum 9100 System DTM Epoxy Mastic, a two-component direct-to-metal epoxy coating. This activator accelerates cure time, allowing recoat in as little as 4 hours at 70 degrees F and 50% relative humidity, minimizing downtime on the job. It is formulated for air and surface temperatures between 50 and 100 degrees F. Licensed painters, industrial coating applicators, and maintenance professionals working in commercial or industrial environments are the primary installers of this system.
This activator is used in conjunction with a separately ordered 9100 System base color component to complete the two-component epoxy system. The 9100 System is suited for direct-to-metal applications on steel, concrete, and a variety of other substrates where long-term resistance to solvents, chemicals, abrasion, and impact is required. The fast-cure option is particularly well-suited to applications where extended cure windows create unacceptable downtime. Note that this activator produces a slightly lower gloss finish compared to the standard activator option.
Designed for use with the Rust-OLEUM 9100 System DTM Epoxy Mastic base color, ordered separately. This activator is one of four activator options in the 9100 System line, each suited to specific temperature ranges and application conditions.
This product is a component of a two-part epoxy system and must be mixed with the corresponding 9100 System base color at a 1:1 ratio before application. Ensure proper ventilation and appropriate respiratory protection when mixing and applying solvent-based epoxy coatings. Power down or shut off equipment in the work area as required before surface preparation and coating. Follow all applicable local safety and environmental regulations regarding VOC limits and chemical handling.
