The RUST-OLEUM 9101300 is the Standard Activator for the 9100 System DTM Epoxy Mastic, a two-component, direct-to-metal epoxy coating engineered for heavy-duty corrosion protection. This 5-gallon activator pairs with the separately purchased 9100 base color at a 1:1 mix ratio, requiring no additional measuring equipment. The Standard Activator is formulated for use when air and surface temperatures fall between 50 and 100 degrees F. Once catalyzed and applied, the system delivers a tough, abrasion-resistant film with long-term resistance to solvents, chemicals, and impact. Licensed coating contractors, industrial painters, and maintenance professionals install this product on commercial and industrial substrates.
The 9100 System with Standard Activator is suited for direct-to-metal application on structural steel, tanks, equipment, and concrete in both residential and commercial maintenance settings. The self-priming formula adheres to a variety of substrates, eliminating a dedicated prime coat in many scenarios. This activator is appropriate for general-purpose protective coating work where surface and ambient temps are within the 50 to 100 degrees F window. It meets USDA requirements for incidental food contact and is accepted for use in federally registered Canadian food facilities. VOC content is below 340. A two-year rust-proof guarantee applies to the 9100 System when properly applied.
Designed for use with the RUST-OLEUM 9100 System DTM Epoxy Mastic base color, ordered separately. Compatible with the Standard Activator application window of 50 to 100 degrees F air and surface temperature. Other activator options — Immersion, Low-Temperature, and Fast-Cure — are available for specialized conditions.
This product is installed by professional painters, coating contractors, or licensed maintenance technicians familiar with two-component epoxy systems. Prior to mixing, ensure the substrate is properly cleaned, degreased, and free of loose scale or rust per the project specification. Mix only what can be used within the pot life of the catalyzed material, and keep the work area adequately ventilated in accordance with applicable safety data sheet requirements. Do not apply outside the stated temperature window, and avoid mixing components from different activator types.
