The RUST-OLEUM 7778-502 is a satin-finish, high-heat paint formulated for surfaces that reach extreme temperatures during normal operation. It resists heat up to 1,000 degrees F, making it a practical coating choice for barbecue grills, smokers, fire pits, and similar high-temperature metal surfaces. The finish is BBQ Black, a satin sheen that holds up under repeated heat cycling. It ships in a quart container. HVAC and appliance service technicians as well as skilled DIYers apply this coating to restore or refinish heat-exposed metal components.
This paint is intended for metal surfaces subject to sustained high heat. Typical applications include outdoor cooking equipment such as charcoal and gas grills, wood-burning stoves, and cast iron or steel components where conventional paints would blister or peel. The quart size suits touch-up work and smaller surface areas. It is not rated for continuous submersion or chemical exposure.
Designed for use on metal surfaces exposed to high heat, including barbecue grills, smokers, fire pits, wood-burning stoves, and similar equipment requiring a heat-resistant coating.
Surface preparation is critical — remove rust, grease, and loose paint before applying. Apply in a well-ventilated area and allow adequate dry time before exposing the surface to heat. Follow the manufacturer cure schedule before first use at full operating temperature. This product is intended for brush, roll, or spray application by anyone familiar with proper coating procedures.
