The RUST-OLEUM 63231 is a satin lacquer clear wood finish formulated for interior wood surfaces. Sold under the Watco line, this gallon-size product delivers a crystal-clear, satin sheen that enhances natural wood grain without obscuring it. The fast-drying formula reaches a handle-ready state in approximately 30 minutes, reducing downtime between coats on active job sites. No sanding is required between coats, which streamlines multi-coat application on furniture, cabinetry, trim, and other interior millwork. Finishing carpenters, cabinetmakers, and general contractors working on interior wood projects will find this product straightforward to apply with standard brush or spray equipment.
This finish is intended exclusively for interior wood surfaces. Typical applications include residential and light commercial cabinetry, wood furniture, doors, paneling, and trim work. The no-sanding-between-coats feature makes it well suited for production finishing environments where cycle time matters. The crystal-clear formulation is appropriate for natural wood, stained wood, and light-colored species where finish clarity is critical. Note that this product is not available to buyers in South Coast Select CARB counties in California or other VOC-restricted areas.
Designed for use on interior wood surfaces including bare wood, stained wood, and previously finished wood in sound condition. Not intended for exterior applications or non-wood substrates.
Application should be performed by finishing carpenters or painters in a well-ventilated interior space. Ensure the substrate is clean, dry, and free of dust or contaminants before applying the first coat. Follow all local VOC regulations before use, as this product is restricted in certain California air quality management districts. Store and handle in accordance with the safety data sheet; avoid open flames and sources of ignition during application and drying.
