The RUST-OLEUM 316836 is the activator component for the Rust-Oleum 9200 System, a two-component phenalkamine epoxy formulated for demanding protective coating applications. This activator combines with the 9200 System base to deliver a low-HAPS, high-build epoxy coating with excellent surface wetting and fast dry times. Designed for use by industrial painters, maintenance crews, and coating contractors, it performs in challenging conditions including low ambient temperatures and damp surfaces. The cured film provides strong corrosion protection and is certified under NSF/ANSI/CAN 600 for use in potable water storage tanks with a minimum capacity of 4,000 gallons.
The 9200 System activator is suited for a wide range of substrates and service environments, including non-immersion atmospheric exposures and water immersion service. Its self-priming, direct-to-metal formula reduces surface prep steps in many applications. The extended recoat window for atmospheric exposures gives field crews added scheduling flexibility. It is compatible with many Rust-Oleum topcoats, making it a practical choice for multi-coat systems in industrial and municipal maintenance projects.
Designed for use exclusively as the activator component of the Rust-Oleum 9200 System two-component epoxy. Compatible with many Rust-Oleum topcoats when used as directed. Order base color and activator separately.
This product is applied by qualified coating contractors or industrial painters. Before mixing or application, ensure the substrate is properly prepared per project specifications and that the work area meets the temperature and humidity requirements for the 9200 System. Mix activator and base components only in the correct ratio as specified in the product data sheet. Follow all local VOC regulations and applicable safety standards when handling two-component epoxy coatings.
