The RUST-OLEUM 283094 is a heavy-duty, water-based elastomeric acrylic coating sold under the Noxyde product line. Formulated for ultra-rugged protection in aggressive and corrosive environments, it delivers single-coat coverage on new or minimally prepared steel, other metals, and concrete. The coating is self-priming and high-build, eliminating the need for abrasive-blast surface prep in most applications. Key performance characteristics include 200% elasticity for bridging small cracks and moving with structural shifts, plus certified corrosion resistance rated to corrosivity class C5-M High per ISO Standard 12944. This product is intended for installation and application by experienced trade and industrial coating professionals.
This coating is suited for both commercial and industrial applications where steel, metal, or concrete substrates are exposed to severe conditions, including marine environments. Its water-based, low-VOC formula meets USDA requirements for incidental food contact and is accepted for use in federally registered Canadian food facilities, making it appropriate for food-processing facilities and similar regulated environments. The 5-gallon container size is standard for larger commercial coating projects. Color is Gray Green with a gloss finish.
Designed for application on new or minimally prepared steel, metals, and concrete substrates. For new galvanized steel or smooth metals and concrete, consult manufacturer primer recommendations before application.
Application should be performed by qualified coating or industrial maintenance professionals familiar with surface preparation standards and coating application methods. Power down or isolate any energized equipment before coating work begins in mechanical or electrical areas. Follow applicable local, state, and federal regulations regarding VOC compliance and workplace safety during application. Review the manufacturer product data sheet and safety data sheet before use for surface prep requirements, application temperatures, recoat windows, and cure times.
