The RUST-OLEUM 283093 is Noxyde Elastomeric Acrylic Coating, a heavy-duty, single-component, water-based formula engineered for ultra-rugged corrosion protection in aggressive environments. Available in a 5-gallon unit in Blue Gloss, this high-build coating is self-priming and delivers one-coat coverage on new or minimally prepared steel, other metals, and concrete. Its 200% elasticity allows it to bridge small cracks and move with the structure, protecting edges and seams. The formula performs comparably to zinc and epoxy coatings without requiring abrasive-blast surface preparation, making it a practical choice for industrial maintenance painters and corrosion-control professionals.
Noxyde is suited for use in severe industrial and marine environments where corrosion resistance is critical. It is certified by The Coatings Research Institute, Belgium, for corrosivity class C5-M High per ISO Standard 12944. The coating also meets USDA requirements for incidental food contact and is accepted for use in federally registered Canadian food facilities. It carries a 10-year warranty (restrictions apply) and is VOC-compliant nationwide, making it appropriate for facilities with strict environmental compliance requirements. Typical applications include structural steel, storage tanks, industrial equipment, and concrete surfaces exposed to moisture or corrosive agents.
Designed for application on new or minimally prepared steel, metals, and concrete surfaces. For new galvanized steel or smooth metals and concrete, consult manufacturer primer recommendations before application.
Application should be performed by qualified industrial painters or maintenance professionals familiar with protective coating systems. Ensure the substrate is clean, dry, and free of loose scale, oil, and grease before application; follow manufacturer surface preparation guidelines for the specific substrate. Consult the product data sheet for recommended application temperature ranges and recoat windows. Avoid application in conditions of direct moisture, extreme humidity, or temperatures outside the stated working range.
