The RUST-OLEUM 262004 is a Varathane Premium Fast Dry oil-based interior wood stain formulated for single-coat application on interior wood surfaces. It delivers a Spring Oak tone with a 1-hour dry time, making it a practical choice for production finishing work or jobs where turnaround matters. Licensed finish carpenters, cabinet installers, and finish contractors reach for this product when staining furniture, cabinetry, doors, trim, floors, and paneling. The oil-based formula penetrates wood fibers to produce consistent color with depth, and the fast-dry chemistry reduces idle time between stain and topcoat application.
This stain is intended for interior wood applications in residential and light commercial settings. It is well suited to finish carpentry projects including cabinet refacing, door and trim installation, flooring refinishing, and decorative paneling work. The single-coat coverage reduces material and labor per square foot on large surface areas. Available in quart size, it is appropriate for small to mid-size projects or for contractors sampling a color before committing to a larger quantity.
Designed for use on all interior wood surfaces including bare and previously stained wood that has been properly stripped and prepared. Suitable for furniture, cabinetry, doors, trim, flooring, and paneling applications.
Application should be performed by a finish carpenter, painter, or qualified tradesperson in a well-ventilated area, as oil-based stains produce solvent vapors during application and drying. Surface must be clean, dry, sanded smooth, and free of dust, wax, or prior finish before staining. Apply with a brush, foam applicator, or lint-free cloth, and wipe off excess stain before the dry time begins to ensure uniform tone. Dispose of oil-soaked rags according to local fire codes, as spontaneous combustion is a risk with oil-based finishing materials.
