The RUST-OLEUM 248276 is a water-based, two-component epoxy maintenance coating formulated for surfaces that require frequent wash-downs, heavy cleaning, or sanitation cycles. It cures to a tough, high-gloss finish and carries a low VOC and low HAP profile, making it suitable for food-service, processing, and industrial maintenance environments. Touch-dry time is 30 minutes, with a return-to-service window of 24 hours. The tint base and activator are ordered separately. Licensed applicators and maintenance professionals working in regulated facilities typically specify this product for interior wall and floor coating projects.
This coating is designed for use in facilities where surfaces must withstand moisture, chemical wash-downs, and periodic sanitization. It meets USDA requirements for incidental food contact and is accepted for use in federally registered Canadian food facilities. For maximum adhesion and system performance, application over an S70 or S71 primer is recommended. It is well-suited for commercial kitchens, food processing plants, pharmaceutical facilities, breweries, and similar industrial and institutional environments.
Part of the Sierra S60 two-component water-based epoxy system. For best results, apply over RUST-OLEUM S70 or S71 primer. Satin finishes are represented by the Sierra S62 system. Specific model or substrate compatibility beyond what is stated by the manufacturer should be confirmed prior to application.
Application should be performed by a qualified painting contractor or industrial maintenance technician familiar with two-component coating systems. Mix the tint base and activator thoroughly per manufacturer instructions before application, and do not apply beyond the stated pot life. Ensure adequate ventilation during application and drying. Surface preparation — including cleaning, degreasing, and priming — is critical to coating adhesion and longevity.
