The RUST-OLEUM 245519 is a 340 VOC direct-to-metal (DTM) alkyd enamel coating formulated for industrial corrosion protection. This gallon of Light Tint Base delivers a high-gloss finish in a single coat and dries tack-free in 2 to 4 hours. It is engineered for moderate to slightly severe industrial environments where steel, iron, and other metal substrates require long-term rust prevention without the use of a separate primer on prepared surfaces. The 245519 meets USDA requirements for incidental food contact and is accepted for use in federally registered Canadian food processing facilities. Licensed painters, industrial maintenance crews, and facility maintenance professionals typically apply this product.
The 245519 is suited for industrial and commercial maintenance painting applications where metal components are exposed to corrosion, weathering, mild chemicals, and physical wear. It performs in manufacturing plants, food processing facilities, warehouses, and similar environments requiring durable metal finishes. The Light Tint Base formulation allows tinting to a range of finish colors. For maximum system performance, use with a compatible V7400 System primer before topcoat application. Available in both gallon and five-gallon container sizes.
Designed as part of the Rust-Oleum V7400 System for direct-to-metal application on clean, prepared metal substrates. For maximum corrosion protection, pair with a V7400 System primer.
Application should be performed by qualified painting contractors or industrial maintenance personnel familiar with DTM coatings and applicable local VOC regulations. All metal surfaces must be clean, dry, and free of rust, grease, and loose mill scale before application. Follow container label guidance for thinning, application method, and recoat windows. Consult applicable safety data sheets and use appropriate personal protective equipment during mixing and application.
