The RUST-OLEUM 239503 is a high-performance alkyd accelerator formulated to reduce dry times and improve film hardness in compatible alkyd coating systems. Added directly to the finish coat before application, it shortens tack-free time, which reduces the window for dust and airborne contamination to settle into the wet film. The accelerator is a clear, non-yellowing isocyanate blend, making it suitable for light-colored and clear topcoat applications. It is highly concentrated, requiring only 4 ounces per gallon of alkyd finish. Industrial painters, maintenance coaters, and coating applicators working in commercial or industrial environments use this additive to improve production efficiency and coating performance.
This accelerator is intended for use in multi-coat industrial finishing projects where alkyd-based systems are specified. It is compatible with the 2500 System and V7400 System product lines, including the V7400 System 340 VOC DTM Alkyd Enamel. Typical applications include structural steel, industrial equipment, and facility maintenance painting where faster recoat schedules are required. It ships in a 1-quart container.
Compatible with RUST-OLEUM 2500 System and V7400 System finishes, including the V7400 System 340 VOC DTM Alkyd Enamel. Do not use with coating systems outside these specified product lines without verifying compatibility with the manufacturer.
This product is applied by mixing the accelerator into the alkyd finish at the specified ratio before coating application — do not apply as a standalone coating. Ensure adequate ventilation when mixing and applying isocyanate-containing products, and follow all applicable safety data sheet requirements for respiratory protection. Industrial coating applicators should verify that the accelerator addition rate and pot life limitations are observed to maintain proper film build and adhesion. Dispose of mixed material in accordance with local regulations, as pot life is limited once the accelerator is introduced.
