The RUST-OLEUM 214432 is a fast-cure activator designed for use with the Rust-Oleum 9100 System DTM Epoxy Mastic, a two-component direct-to-metal coating system built for demanding industrial and commercial environments. This gallon-sized activator pairs with the 9100 base coat at a convenient 1:1 mixing ratio, requiring no additional measuring equipment. The fast-cure formulation accelerates cure time, allowing recoat in 4 hours at 70 degrees F and 50% relative humidity. Suitable for air and surface temperatures between 50 and 100 degrees F, it is intended for use by professional painters, industrial maintenance crews, and coating contractors who need to minimize system downtime without sacrificing film integrity.
This activator is formulated for use in the 9100 System DTM Epoxy Mastic line, which is applied direct-to-metal without a separate primer coat. It is well suited for structural steel, equipment, and other metal substrates in industrial facilities, manufacturing plants, and commercial maintenance applications. The system meets USDA requirements for incidental food contact and is accepted for use in federally registered Canadian food facilities, making it appropriate for food processing or institutional environments where coating compliance is required. This specific fast-cure activator produces a slightly lower gloss finish compared to the standard activator option.
Designed for use exclusively with the Rust-Oleum 9100 System DTM Epoxy Mastic base coat as a two-component system; order base color and activator separately. Compatible with metal and other substrates where the 9100 System is specified. Not intended for potable water tank applications.
Application should be performed by qualified coating professionals following applicable safety and surface preparation standards. Verify air and surface temperatures are within the 50 to 100 degrees F range before mixing and application. Mix only what can be applied within the pot life of the combined system; do not thin the mixed material beyond product guidelines. Ensure adequate ventilation and appropriate respiratory protection per local occupational safety requirements when applying solvent-containing coatings in enclosed spaces.
