The RUST-OLEUM 210495 is a water-based acrylic enamel coating formulated for professional finish work in low-VOC, low-odor environments. It delivers superior resistance to chipping, cracking, and peeling while maintaining excellent color retention over time. The single-component formula dries in 30 minutes, making it a practical choice for occupied facilities where downtime is limited. This 1-gallon unit produces a gloss finish in Safety Yellow and is suitable for interior and exterior applications across a wide range of substrates. Licensed painters, facility maintenance contractors, and commercial coating applicators are the typical installers.
This coating is designed for use on primed or painted metal, concrete, masonry, wood, drywall, and tile. Its low HAPs content and low solvent odor make it well-suited for schools, cafeterias, food-service facilities, and other occupied spaces where paint fumes present a health or compliance concern. The formula meets USDA requirements for incidental food contact, broadening its suitability for commercial kitchen and food-processing environments. It performs in both interior and exterior conditions, providing moisture resistance and a surface that is easily cleaned and sanitized after cure.
For best results, apply over MetalMax or Griptec primers. Designed for use on primed or painted interior and exterior surfaces including metal, concrete, masonry, wood, drywall, and tile.
Surface preparation is critical before application — substrate should be clean, dry, and free of grease, loose paint, and rust. Follow all applicable local and facility safety regulations when applying coatings in occupied spaces, and ensure adequate ventilation even with low-odor formulas. Power down or de-energize any electrical equipment in the immediate work area before spray or brush application near enclosures. Allow full cure time before exposing the surface to heavy traffic, cleaning agents, or moisture.
