The RUST-OLEUM 208112 is a water-based epoxy acrylic activator designed for use with the S70/S71 Water-Based Epoxy Acrylic Primer system. This one-gallon activator is the second component in a two-part system, mixed with the corresponding base to deliver superior adhesion, chemical resistance, and corrosion resistance. Formulated with low VOCs and low HAPs, it is well suited for enclosed or occupied facilities where solvent odor and fume exposure must be minimized. Licensed painters, industrial coating applicators, and maintenance professionals apply this product in settings where air quality compliance is a priority alongside coating performance.
This activator is intended for spray application and is part of the Sierra Performance water-based epoxy acrylic coating system. It is used in commercial and industrial environments including food-processing facilities, manufacturing plants, and maintenance shops where incidental food contact compliance is required. The fast dry time — approximately 30 minutes to touch — supports efficient workflow in production or maintenance schedules. For best results, the cured primer should be top-coated with S60 Water-Based Epoxy Maintenance Coating.
Designed for use with the RUST-OLEUM S70/S71 Water-Based Epoxy Acrylic Primer system. Recommended top coat is the S60 Water-Based Epoxy Maintenance Coating. Base and activator components are ordered separately.
Application of this two-component coating system should be performed by qualified painters or industrial coating applicators familiar with epoxy acrylic systems. Mix the base and activator according to the product data sheet ratio before spray application; do not apply components unmixed. Ensure adequate ventilation even with low-VOC formulations, and follow all applicable local and federal safety regulations for coating application in industrial environments.
