The RUST-OLEUM 206232 is the Standard Activator component for the 9100 System DTM Epoxy Mastic, sold in a 5-gallon unit. This two-component epoxy system is engineered for direct-to-metal application without a separate primer coat. When mixed with the 9100 base color at a 1:1 ratio, it cures to a tough, gloss finish that resists solvents, chemicals, abrasion, and impact. The Standard Activator is formulated for air and surface temperatures between 50 and 100 degrees F. Industrial painters, maintenance coating crews, and facility maintenance professionals apply this system over steel, concrete, and other substrates where long-term corrosion protection is the priority. The package weighs 65 pounds.
The 9100 System with Standard Activator suits a wide range of industrial and commercial maintenance coating applications. It is appropriate for structural steel, equipment, tanks, floors, and other surfaces requiring maximum corrosion protection. The formulation meets USDA requirements for incidental food contact and is accepted for use in federally registered Canadian food facilities. VOC content is below 340. This Standard Activator covers applications where air and surface temperatures remain within the 50 to 100 degrees F operating window during application and cure. Additional activator variants exist for immersion service, low-temperature conditions, and fast-cure scheduling requirements.
Designed for use with the RUST-OLEUM 9100 System DTM Epoxy Mastic base color, mixed at a 1:1 ratio. This activator is the Standard variant intended for air and surface temperatures of 50 to 100 degrees F; separate activators are available for immersion, low-temperature, and fast-cure applications.
Application of two-component epoxy coatings is typically performed by industrial painters or maintenance coating technicians following the manufacturer mixing and pot-life instructions. Before mixing, ensure surfaces are clean, dry, and properly prepared per the project specification. Measure and mix components at the stated 1:1 ratio and apply within the working pot life of the mixed material. Review applicable local VOC regulations and ventilation requirements before application in enclosed spaces.
