The RUSSOUND sb-c67 is a rough-in mounting bracket kit designed to position and template in-ceiling and in-wall speaker cutouts during new construction or remodel framing. The bracket establishes the correct opening size for the speaker frame before drywall is hung, eliminating the need for additional layout work after boarding. Each unit includes a speaker bracket and two perforated tabbed wings that attach to wall or ceiling studs by nailing, screwing, or stapling. The assembly is constructed from tough plastic and aluminum to hold up through the full construction process. Each package includes 2 brackets and weighs 1.19 pounds total.
These brackets are used in residential and light commercial ceiling or wall installations where in-ceiling speakers are roughed in before drywall is installed. Once drywall is applied over the bracket, the installer cuts the opening using the bracket as a guide, then inserts the speaker frame directly through the opening. This workflow keeps speaker locations accurate across multi-room audio installations and coordinates cleanly with drywall subcontractors working ahead of the audio installation crew.
Compatible with the following Russound Acclaim 5 Series 6.5 inch in-ceiling speakers: 5C61, 5C61S, 5C62, 5C64S. Also compatible with the following Russound Acclaim 7 Series 7 inch in-ceiling speakers: 7C72, 7C74, 7C74S, 7C75, 7C76, 7C77, 7C78.
Installation is performed by low-voltage or audio-video technicians, typically during the framing stage before drywall. Secure the tabbed wings firmly to the stud framing using nails, screws, or staples so the bracket does not shift during boarding. After drywall is hung, score and cut the opening using the bracket perimeter as the guide before inserting the speaker frame. Confirm local building codes for low-voltage rough-in clearances where applicable.
