The Trane M5THS1912A11NA is a single-zone ductless mini split outdoor condensing unit rated at 12,000 BTU/h with a 19 SEER efficiency rating. It operates on R-454B refrigerant, a lower-GWP alternative to R-410A, and is designed for single-phase 208-230 volt power supplies. Part of the Runtru 19 Series lineup, this unit is intended for residential ductless cooling and heating applications. Licensed HVAC technicians handle installation, refrigerant connection, and electrical hookup in compliance with local mechanical and electrical codes.
This condensing unit pairs with a compatible Runtru or Trane M5 Series indoor air handler for single-zone ductless applications. It is suited for residential spaces such as individual rooms, additions, sunrooms, garages, and other areas where ducted systems are impractical. The unit handles both cooling and heating functions as part of a mini split heat pump configuration, making it applicable in moderate to cold climates.
Designed for use as the outdoor unit in a Trane Runtru 19 Series single-zone ductless mini split system. Pair with the corresponding M5 Series indoor wall-mount air handler rated for 12,000 BTU/h. Consult Trane product documentation to confirm matched indoor unit compatibility before installation.
Installation must be performed by an EPA Section 608-certified HVAC technician qualified to handle R-454B refrigerant. Disconnect and lock out all electrical power before making any wiring or refrigerant connections. Follow local building codes, NEC requirements for disconnect and circuit sizing, and manufacturer line-set sizing guidance for the liquid and suction lines. Do not operate the unit without verifying that the indoor and outdoor units are properly matched and that refrigerant charge has been confirmed per system documentation.
