The ROYAL 5103228 is a cellular PVC trim board designed for use in exterior and interior finish carpentry applications. Manufactured from 100% cellular PVC, this board resists moisture, mildew, and rot, making it a practical alternative to wood trim in high-exposure installations. The surface accepts 100% acrylic latex paint, allowing it to be finished to match any project specification. At a nominal 1x4 profile and 12-foot length, it suits a wide range of trim, fascia, casing, and accent applications. Licensed carpenters, siding contractors, and finish trim professionals are the primary installers of this product.
This PVC trim board is well-suited for residential and light commercial construction where moisture exposure is a concern. Typical applications include window and door casing, corner boards, fascia, frieze boards, porch trim, and interior accent millwork. Because the material does not absorb water, it performs reliably in coastal, high-humidity, and ground-adjacent installations where wood trim would be prone to decay. The board ships and installs at standard lumber dimensions, allowing it to integrate directly into conventional framing and finish carpentry workflows.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement or new-installation trim board for residential and light commercial exterior and interior finish carpentry where a nominal 1x4 PVC profile is specified.
Installation follows standard finish carpentry practices and should comply with applicable local building codes. PVC trim boards are typically fastened with stainless steel or hot-dipped galvanized nails or screws to prevent corrosion staining at fastener points. Allow for thermal expansion gaps at butt joints per the manufacturer recommendations, as cellular PVC expands and contracts more than wood with temperature changes. Paint all cut ends in exterior applications to maintain a consistent finished appearance.
