The ROTOR CLIP TX-62ST PA is an external self-locking retaining ring designed to secure components on shafts without requiring a groove. Made from SAE 1060-1090 steel (UNS G10600-G10900), this ring fits a 5/8 inch (0.625 inch) shaft diameter and provides a thrust load capacity of 137 pounds. The phosphate finish offers a base level of corrosion resistance and improves lubrication retention. With 12 prongs and a ring thickness of 0.015 inches, it locks onto the shaft by gripping the surface directly. Mechanical assemblers, maintenance technicians, and industrial service professionals install this ring wherever groove-free shaft retention is required.
This retaining ring is suited for use in mechanical assemblies where conventional grooved snap rings are not practical. Typical applications include light machinery, motors, pumps, and similar rotating equipment where the ring must hold axial position on a smooth or lightly finished shaft. The ring accepts shaft diameters from 0.620 inches minimum to 0.630 inches maximum, providing a controlled fit within that tolerance range. Its compact free outside diameter of 0.951 inches keeps the installed profile low in tight assemblies.
Designed as an OEM-style external self-locking retaining ring for 5/8 inch nominal shaft diameter applications in mechanical assemblies conforming to SAE 1060-1090 and UNS G10600-G10900 material standards.
Installation is performed by mechanical technicians using standard retaining ring pliers or push-on installation tools appropriate for external self-locking ring profiles. Before installation, ensure the shaft surface is clean and free of burrs that could prevent the prongs from seating properly. Verify the shaft diameter falls within the 0.620 to 0.630 inch acceptance range before applying the ring. Do not hammer or impact the ring directly, as deforming the prongs will reduce thrust load capacity.
