The ROTOR CLIP TX-25ST PA is an external self-locking retaining ring designed for 1/4 inch (0.250 inch) diameter shafts. It functions as a fastening device that locks onto a shaft without a groove, using six prongs to grip and hold components axially. Made from SAE 1060-1090 carbon steel with a phosphate finish, the ring provides corrosion resistance and wear protection in light to moderate service environments. With a free outside diameter of 0.522 inches and a ring thickness of 0.015 inches, this ring is suited for compact assemblies where groove machining is not practical. Hardness is rated at 84-86 HR15N. Installation is performed by mechanical technicians, engineers, or assembly technicians working on shaft-mounted components.
The TX-25ST PA fits shafts ranging from a minimum diameter of 0.246 inches to a maximum of 0.254 inches, making it appropriate for precision-tolerance shaft applications. It is commonly used in motors, pumps, gearboxes, actuators, and similar rotating or reciprocating assemblies found in HVAC equipment, industrial machinery, and light mechanical systems. The phosphate finish makes it suitable for indoor and protected outdoor environments where moderate corrosion resistance is required. This ring is sold individually but carries a minimum order quantity of 100 units, making it appropriate for production and repair operations requiring bulk fastener supply.
Designed for use on external shafts with a nominal diameter of 1/4 inch (0.250 inch). Suitable as a groove-free retaining solution in motors, pumps, gearboxes, and similar shaft-mounted assemblies where the shaft diameter falls within the 0.246 to 0.254 inch tolerance range.
Installation is typically performed by mechanical assemblers or maintenance technicians using retaining ring pliers appropriate for external self-locking rings. Ensure the shaft is clean and free of burrs before seating the ring to allow proper prong engagement. Verify shaft diameter is within the specified tolerance range of 0.246 to 0.254 inches before installation. Do not reuse a ring that has been removed, as prong deformation during removal reduces clamping reliability.
