The ring is made from SAE 1060-1090 steel with a phosphate finish that provides basic corrosion resistance and surface lubricity. At 0.010 inch thick with a free outside diameter of 0.397 inches, this ring is suited for compact assemblies where space is limited. This retaining ring is used in assemblies where shaft grooving is impractical or where fast, tool-reduced installation is required.
