The ROTOR CLIP TI-56ST PA is a steel internal self-locking retaining ring designed to seat inside a bored housing and hold components in place without a groove. The self-locking design generates its own retention force against the bore wall, eliminating the need for a machined groove in the housing. Made from 1060/1090 carbon steel with a phosphate finish, this ring measures 0.312 inches inside diameter with a ring thickness of 0.01 inches and delivers a thrust load capacity of 51 pounds. It is installed by mechanical assembly technicians and maintenance professionals working with precision bore assemblies.
This retaining ring is suited for residential and light commercial mechanical assemblies where internal bore retention is required without groove machining. Typical applications include small motor housings, gearbox assemblies, hydraulic components, and any bore measuring 9/16 inches where a lightweight, thin-profile internal retainer is needed. The phosphate finish provides baseline corrosion resistance suitable for indoor mechanical environments.
Designed as an OEM-style internal self-locking retaining ring for assemblies with a 9/16-inch bore diameter where groove-free retention is specified.
Installation is performed using retaining ring pliers sized for internal rings; improper tooling can distort the ring and compromise retention force. Power down and de-energize any equipment before disassembling the housing or bore assembly. Do not reuse a ring that has been removed, as the self-locking geometry may be deformed. Verify bore diameter and surface finish meet design tolerances before installing the ring to ensure rated thrust load performance.
