The ROTOR CLIP SH-56SS is an external retaining ring engineered for shaft retention applications requiring tight dimensional tolerances and high hardness. Designed for a 9/16-inch (0.5625 inches) shaft diameter with a groove diameter of 0.530 inches, this ring is manufactured from 15-7 Grade 632 beryllium copper stainless steel conforming to AMS-5529 and UNS S15700. A zinc-plated finish provides a base level of surface protection. With a hardness rating of 66-71 HRC, the SH-56SS is suited for high-load retention scenarios where ring deformation must be minimized. Licensed HVAC technicians, millwrights, and mechanical assemblers working with rotating shafts and precision housings commonly specify this type of fastener.
The SH-56SS is used in applications where a compact, high-strength external retaining ring must seat precisely in a machined shaft groove. Its 0.039-inch groove width and 0.016-inch groove depth dimensions are critical to proper seating and axial load transfer. This ring is appropriate for use in mechanical assemblies, rotating equipment, and precision-fit shaft applications across industrial, HVAC, and plumbing equipment environments. It meets ISO 13485:2015 standards, making it applicable in controlled manufacturing and service environments where traceability and specification conformance are required.
Designed as an OEM-style external retaining ring for 9/16-inch diameter shafts with a 0.530-inch groove diameter, suitable for use in mechanical assemblies that require AMS-5529 or UNS S15700 compliant fasteners.
External retaining rings of this type are installed by mechanical technicians or assemblers using appropriate snap-ring pliers sized for external rings. Always relieve shaft load and de-energize or lock out the equipment before servicing any rotating shaft assembly. Inspect the shaft groove dimensions against the specified groove width and depth tolerances prior to installation to ensure proper ring seating. Do not reuse a ring that has been removed, as the material may have been stressed beyond its elastic limit.
