The ROTOR CLIP SH-100SS MPS is an external retaining ring designed for 1 inch diameter shafts. It seats in a machined groove and provides axial retention of components on a shaft without threads or cotter pins. The ring is manufactured from 15-7 Grade 632 stainless steel and meets AMS-5529 and UNS S15700 material standards. The passivated finish provides corrosion resistance suited to demanding service environments. Groove diameter is 0.94 inches with a ring thickness of 0.042 inches. This part is specified to Military Specification MS 16624-4100 and is also qualified to ISO 13485:2015. Hardness is rated at 47 to 52 HRC. Machinists, maintenance technicians, and assembly professionals working in industrial, aerospace, or fluid-handling equipment applications install this ring type.
This retaining ring is used wherever an external snap ring is required on a 1 inch shaft to secure bearings, collars, gears, or other components against axial movement. The 15-7 stainless steel construction makes it appropriate for applications that require elevated strength, corrosion resistance, or compliance with aerospace and medical device assembly standards. It is suitable for use in pumps, motors, actuators, and precision mechanical assemblies where standard carbon steel rings are not acceptable.
Designed as an OEM-style external retaining ring for 1 inch diameter shafts requiring a groove diameter of 0.94 inches. Suitable for use in any assembly specifying MS 16624-4100 or AMS-5529 compliant external snap rings.
Installation is performed by qualified mechanical technicians using appropriate external snap ring pliers sized for this ring. Ensure the shaft groove is machined to the specified groove width of 0.046 inches and groove depth of 0.030 inches before installation. De-energize and lock out all rotating equipment before servicing any shaft assembly. Do not reuse a ring that has been removed, as the material may have been stressed beyond its elastic limit.
