The ROTOR CLIP SE-17ST ZD is an external E style retaining ring designed to seat in a precision groove on a shaft and provide a positive stop against axial movement of assembled components. The ring is manufactured from SAE 1060-1090 steel and finished with yellow zinc dichromate plating for corrosion resistance. It fits an 11/64 inch (0.1719 inch) shaft diameter and installs into a groove measuring 0.127 inches in diameter. With a ring thickness of 0.025 inches and a hardness range of 66.5 to 71 HR30N, this ring is suited for light-duty fastening applications where a compact, low-profile retaining solution is required. Maintenance technicians and assembly technicians working on motors, pumps, and small mechanical assemblies commonly use this type of retaining ring.
This E style retaining ring is used in residential and commercial mechanical assemblies where shafts in the 11/64 inch range require axial retention without threaded fasteners. Typical applications include small electric motors, blower assemblies, pump shafts, and similar rotating equipment found in HVAC, plumbing, and pool service environments. The three-prong E style design allows for tool-based or snap-fit installation into the groove without requiring a full shaft-end access point, making it practical in tight assembly configurations.
Designed as an OEM-style external retaining ring for shafts with an 11/64 inch diameter and a groove diameter of 0.127 inches, following SAE 1060-1090 and UNS G10600-G10900 fastener standards.
Installation should be performed by a qualified technician using appropriate retaining ring pliers rated for E style rings. De-energize and lock out all power to any equipment before disassembly or ring installation. Verify groove diameter and depth against ring specifications before seating the ring to avoid incomplete engagement. Do not over-stress the ring prongs during installation, as deformation can compromise axial retention.
