The ROTOR CLIP SE-137ST MCD is an external E style retaining ring designed for use on 1-3/8 inch diameter shafts. It seats in a precision groove and provides axial retention for components such as bearings, gears, and pulleys on shafts in industrial and mechanical assemblies. Manufactured from SAE 1060-1090 steel with a cadmium finish, the ring achieves a hardness of 47-52 HRC, providing reliable holding strength in demanding applications. The three-prong E style configuration allows for tool-free or pliers-assisted installation and removal without full shaft disassembly, making it a practical choice for maintenance and repair workflows.
This retaining ring is suited for use in industrial machinery, power transmission assemblies, pumps, motors, and other rotating equipment where external shaft retention is required. It is commonly installed by millwrights, mechanical technicians, and maintenance professionals working on equipment that uses 1-3/8 inch shafts. The cadmium plating provides corrosion resistance in moderate-duty environments. This part meets Military Specification MS 16633-1137 and is manufactured to ISO 13485:2015 standards, making it appropriate for applications requiring traceable, specification-compliant fasteners.
Designed as an OEM-style external retaining ring for 1-3/8 inch diameter shafts with a groove diameter of 1.23 inches, a groove width of 0.068 inches, and a groove depth of 0.072 inches. Verify shaft and groove dimensions against the specifications below before installation.
Installation and removal of E style retaining rings should be performed by qualified mechanical technicians using appropriate retaining ring pliers. De-energize and lock out all equipment before servicing any shaft assembly. Confirm groove dimensions match the ring specifications prior to installation to avoid improper seating or ring failure under load. Do not reuse rings that show signs of deformation, cracking, or corrosion.
