The ROTOR CLIP SE-118ST MCD is an external E style retaining ring designed for use on shafts with a 1-3/16 inch (1.1875 inch decimal) diameter. Manufactured from SAE 1060-1090 steel with a cadmium-plated finish, this ring seats into a machined groove measuring 1.079 inches in diameter and 0.068 inches wide. With a hardness rating of 47-52 HRC and a ring thickness of 0.062 inches, it delivers reliable axial retention under load. The three-prong E style design allows for tool-free or plier-assisted installation without requiring shaft end access. Licensed mechanical and maintenance technicians install this type of ring in rotating assemblies, drive shafts, and precision mechanical components.
This retaining ring is suited for industrial and trade applications where external groove retention is required on shafts near 1-3/16 inches in diameter. Typical use cases include electric motors, gearboxes, pump shafts, conveyor systems, and similar rotating or reciprocating assemblies found in HVAC equipment, plumbing systems, and general mechanical plant. The cadmium finish provides corrosion resistance in environments where moisture or mild chemical exposure is present. The ring conforms to Military Specification MS 16633-1118 and meets SAE 1060-1090 and UNS G10600-G10900 standards, making it appropriate for both commercial and light military-specification maintenance work.
Designed as an OEM-style external retaining ring for shafts with a 1-3/16 inch diameter and a machined external groove conforming to MS 16633-1118 dimensional specifications.
Installation and removal of E style retaining rings should be performed by a qualified mechanic or maintenance technician using appropriate retaining ring pliers. Always de-energize and lock out equipment before servicing rotating assemblies. Verify groove dimensions match the ring specifications before installation to prevent ring dislodgement under load. Inspect the groove for wear, burrs, or damage prior to seating the ring.
