The ROTOR CLIP KG-425SJ is a stainless steel internal spiral retaining ring designed to seat in a machined groove inside a bored housing or bore assembly. It provides axial retention of shafts, pins, and other components without requiring a slot or hole in the retained part. The ring is manufactured from AISI 302 stainless steel, giving it strong corrosion resistance for wet, chemical, or washdown environments. It fits a 4.25-inch bore diameter with a free outside diameter of 4.52 inches, a groove width of 0.12 inches, a groove depth of 0.12 inches, and a ring thickness of 0.111 inches. Mechanical assemblers and maintenance technicians install this ring in industrial, hydraulic, and precision-machined assemblies.
This retaining ring is used in applications where a standard stamped ring cannot be installed from the end of a shaft or where continuous 360-degree contact with the groove is required. Spiral retaining rings are common in gearboxes, pumps, hydraulic cylinders, motors, and precision housings in industrial and commercial settings. The internal configuration means the ring seats into the bore groove to retain a component inside the housing. The 302 stainless steel construction makes it suitable for food-processing equipment, marine environments, and other corrosive-duty applications.

Installation is performed by mechanical assemblers or maintenance technicians using spiral ring pliers or a ring applicator tool sized for the bore diameter. De-energize and lock out all power to the equipment before servicing any assembly containing retaining rings. Inspect the groove for burrs, corrosion, or out-of-tolerance dimensions before seating the ring. Do not over-compress or twist the ring during installation, as distortion will reduce load capacity.
