The ROTOR CLIP KG-325SJ is a stainless steel internal spiral retaining ring designed to seat in a machined groove inside a bore. It provides a removable shoulder that retains components axially within a housing or bore without requiring threads, pins, or welding. Manufactured from AISI 302 stainless steel, this ring meets AMS-5866 material requirements. It carries a thrust load capacity of 22,510 pounds at the groove safety factor and 45,330 pounds at the ring safety factor, making it suitable for demanding industrial and mechanical applications. Licensed HVAC technicians, maintenance mechanics, and industrial assembly professionals commonly install this type of retaining ring during equipment overhaul or component replacement.
This internal spiral retaining ring is used in applications where a bore diameter of 3.25 inches is present and axial retention of a shaft-mounted component is required. Its spiral design allows installation with standard retaining ring pliers without the need for eyed ears, making it well-suited for bores where space is limited. Typical installations include pumps, gearboxes, motors, and fluid-handling assemblies found in HVAC, industrial, and mechanical systems. The stainless steel construction resists corrosion, making it appropriate for wet or chemically exposed environments.
Designed as an OEM-style internal spiral retaining ring for assemblies with a 3.25-inch bore diameter requiring axial component retention.
Installation and removal should be performed by qualified mechanics or technicians using retaining ring pliers rated for spiral ring profiles. Ensure the bore groove dimensions match the specified groove width of 0.12 inches and groove depth of 0.098 inches before installation. Always depressurize and de-energize any equipment before disassembly. Do not reuse a ring that has been deformed or overstressed during removal.
