The ROTOR CLIP KG-300ST OIL is a steel internal spiral retaining ring designed for a 3-inch bore diameter application. It seats in a machined internal groove and provides axial retention of shafts, pins, or assemblies without requiring a secondary fastener. The ring is manufactured from 1060/1090 carbon steel with an oil finish to resist corrosion during storage and service. With a ring thickness of 0.093 inches and a groove width of 0.103 inches, this retaining ring is built to tight tolerances and delivers a thrust load capacity of 18,300 pounds at the groove safety factor and 35,060 pounds at the ring safety factor. Installation is performed by maintenance technicians, millwrights, and mechanical assembly professionals.
This internal spiral retaining ring is suited for industrial and mechanical assemblies where a 3-inch bore groove is present. Typical applications include gearboxes, hydraulic cylinders, pump housings, electric motor end bells, and similar rotating or reciprocating equipment. The oil finish makes it appropriate for both light-duty storage environments and wet or lubricated service conditions. The free outside diameter of 3.204 inches and groove depth of 0.091 inches define the seating geometry required for correct installation.
Designed as an OEM-style internal spiral retaining ring for use in any machined bore with a 3-inch nominal groove diameter, a groove width of 0.103 inches, and a groove depth of 0.091 inches within the specified tolerances.
Installation is performed by millwrights, maintenance technicians, or mechanical assembly professionals using spiral ring pliers or a suitable installation tool sized for the 3-inch bore. Ensure the bore groove is clean, free of burrs, and within the specified groove diameter tolerance of -0.006 to +0.006 inches before installing the ring. De-energize and lock out all power sources on the associated equipment before beginning disassembly or installation. Do not attempt to seat the ring by striking it with impact tools, as this can deform the ring and compromise retention capacity.
