The ROTOR CLIP KG-118ST OIL is a steel internal spiral retaining ring designed for use in precision-machined bores requiring a reliable axial retention solution. With a 1.065-inch inside diameter and a bore diameter of 1-3/16 inches, this ring seats into a machined groove to secure components against axial movement without the need for secondary fasteners. Ring thickness measures 0.05 inches. The oil finish provides a base level of corrosion resistance suitable for housed assemblies. This type of retaining ring is installed by machinists, maintenance technicians, and mechanical assemblers across industrial and OEM applications.
This internal spiral retaining ring is used in assemblies where a groove is machined into the bore of a housing, shaft bore, or cylinder to retain bearings, bushings, pins, or other cylindrical components. Typical applications include gearboxes, pumps, motors, and precision mechanical assemblies in manufacturing and industrial maintenance environments. The spiral design allows for installation without special pliers in many configurations, making it well suited for high-volume or space-constrained assembly work. The minimum order quantity is 5 units.
Designed as an OEM-style internal spiral retaining ring for machined bores with a 1-3/16-inch nominal bore diameter and a groove width of 0.056 inches. Verify groove diameter tolerance of -0.0040 to 0.0040 inches and groove width tolerance of 0.000 to 0.004 inches against the mating component before installation.
Installation is performed by qualified mechanical assemblers or maintenance technicians. Ensure the housing bore and retaining groove dimensions are within the specified tolerances before installation to prevent improper seating or ring failure under load. Clean the groove of debris and apply a light lubricant compatible with the oil finish if needed. Never reuse a retaining ring that has been removed, as deformation during removal compromises its load capacity.
