Manufactured from 15-7 Grade 632 stainless steel, it delivers high corrosion resistance and structural integrity in demanding environments. The ring measures 0.035 inches in thickness with a groove width of 0.039 inches and carries a thrust load capacity of 1,460 pounds at the groove safety factor and 3,045 pounds at the ring safety factor. It meets military specifications and is suited for precision assemblies where reliable axial retention is required. Licensed machinists, mechanical assemblers, and MRO technicians typically install this ring using standard snap ring pliers.
This internal retaining ring seats inside a bored housing or bore groove to retain shafts, bearings, or other components axially. Its military-grade specification compliance makes it appropriate for defense, aerospace, and high-reliability industrial applications. The 15-7 stainless construction also suits food processing, marine, and chemical environments where carbon steel rings would corrode. Free outside diameter is 21.11 mm, and the groove depth is 0.58 mm, making precise groove machining essential before installation.

Internal snap retaining rings require internal snap ring pliers sized to the ring diameter for proper seating. Before installation, verify that the bore groove dimensions match the ring specifications, including groove width and depth, to ensure full ring engagement and rated thrust load performance. Always relieve system load and de-energize or depressurize the assembly before servicing retained components. Do not over-expand the ring during installation, as exceeding elastic limits will compromise the retaining force.
