The ROTOR CLIP HO-37SS MPS is a stainless steel internal snap retaining ring designed to seat in a machined groove inside a bore and retain components axially along a shaft or within a housing. Built from 15-7 Grade 632 stainless steel to AMS-5529 and UNS S15700 standards, this ring delivers a Rockwell 30N hardness of 63 to 69.5 and meets multiple Military Specifications including MS 16625-4037 through MS 16625-4187. Ring thickness is 0.025 inches and groove width is 0.029 inches. Thrust load capacity is rated at 1,066 pounds ring safety factor and 350 pounds groove safety factor. Licensed machinists, maintenance technicians, and OEM assemblers working in aerospace, defense, fluid handling, and precision mechanical applications install this ring.
This internal retaining ring fits a 0.375 inch bore diameter and is suited for applications where corrosion resistance and military-grade performance are required. The 15-7 PH stainless steel construction makes it appropriate for environments with moisture, chemical exposure, or elevated temperatures where carbon steel rings would corrode or lose preload. Typical use cases include hydraulic cylinders, pneumatic assemblies, gearboxes, pumps, and instrumentation housings used in military, industrial, and medical device manufacturing contexts. ISO 13485:2016 compliance supports use in regulated medical device assembly environments.
Designed for installation in bores with a nominal 0.375 inch diameter machined to groove width of 0.029 inches and groove width tolerance of 0.000 to 0.003 inches, per MS 16625 series military specification requirements.
Internal snap rings of this type are installed by licensed machinists or qualified mechanical technicians using internal snap ring pliers sized for the bore diameter. Ensure the bore groove dimensions are machined to specification before installation, as an undersized or oversized groove will affect retention capacity. De-energize, depressurize, or disassemble any equipment fully before servicing internal retaining rings. Never reuse a snap ring that has been removed, as the material may have exceeded its elastic limit.
