The ROTOR CLIP HO-162ST ZD is a heavy-duty internal snap retaining ring designed to secure components within a bored housing by seating in a machined groove. Made from spring steel (grade 1060/1090) with a zinc finish for corrosion resistance, this ring delivers reliable axial retention in high-load assemblies. It features a 1.625-inch bore diameter, a free outer diameter of 1.804 inches, and a ring thickness of 0.062 inches. Hardness is rated at Rockwell C 47-52, making it suitable for demanding industrial and mechanical service environments. Licensed tradespeople and MRO technicians working on rotating equipment, pumps, and drive assemblies commonly install this ring type.
This internal retaining ring is used wherever a grooved bore must retain a shaft, bearing, or component against axial movement. Typical applications include gearboxes, electric motors, pumps, hydraulic cylinders, and general power transmission assemblies. The groove it seats in has a width of 0.068 inches and a depth of 0.050 inches, with a groove diameter tolerance of -0.005 to 0.005 inches. Minimum order quantity is 10 rings. This part is sold as a quantity of 1 per package, ordered in multiples of 10.
Designed for bored housings with a 1.625-inch bore diameter requiring an internal retaining groove with a width of 0.068 inches and a depth of 0.050 inches. Groove diameter tolerance must fall within -0.005 to 0.005 inches for proper seating.
Installation and removal should be performed using snap ring pliers sized for internal rings; do not use screwdrivers or improvised tools, as this can distort the ring or damage the groove. Ensure the bore groove dimensions match the ring specifications before installation. Always de-energize and lock out the equipment before servicing any assembly that contains retaining rings. Verify ring seating fully into the groove before returning the assembly to service.
