The ROTOR CLIP HO-162ST MCD is a steel internal snap retaining ring designed for precision bore applications requiring military-grade performance. Built to a 1.625-inch bore diameter, the ring seats into a machined groove to retain shaft-mounted components against axial movement. It carries a ring thickness of 0.062 inches (1.57 mm) and a groove width of 0.068 inches (1.73 mm). Material is 1060/1090 carbon steel with a cadmium finish for corrosion resistance. Hardness is rated at Rockwell C 47-52. This ring meets multiple MS 16625 military specifications and is suited for industrial, aerospace, and defense maintenance applications where certified fastening hardware is required.
This internal retaining ring installs inside a bored housing or bore cavity to lock bearings, bushings, or other components in place axially. It is appropriate for use in precision mechanical assemblies found in industrial machinery, military-spec equipment, and heavy-duty hydraulic or drive-train systems. The cadmium-plated finish supports use in environments where moisture and mild chemical exposure are a concern. Licensed mechanical technicians, military depot maintenance personnel, and precision machinists are the typical installers of this type of hardware.
Meets military specifications MS 16625-1025, MS 16625-1050, MS 16625-1062, MS 16625-1075, MS 16625-1087, MS 16625-1100, MS 16625-1125, MS 16625-1137, MS 16625-1150, MS 16625-1162, and MS 16625-1187. Designed as an OEM-style internal retaining ring for precision bored assemblies requiring cadmium-finished, military-compliant hardware.
Internal snap rings of this type are installed and removed using internal snap ring pliers; use the correct tip size to avoid distorting the ring. De-energize and lock out all equipment before accessing the assembly per applicable safety codes. Inspect the groove for burrs or damage before seating the ring, as groove integrity directly affects the stated thrust load ratings. Cadmium-finished components should be handled with appropriate PPE in accordance with applicable occupational health guidelines.
