The ROTOR CLIP HO-162SS MPS is a heavy-duty internal snap retaining ring engineered for precision retention in bored housing applications. Manufactured from 15-7 Grade 632 stainless steel, this ring seats into a machined internal groove to axially retain shafts, bearings, and other components without fasteners. At 1.625 inches bore diameter with a ring thickness of 0.062 inches (1.57 mm) and a groove width of 0.068 inches (1.73 mm), it delivers consistent, repeatable retention in demanding environments. A Rockwell C hardness rating of 44-51 supports high thrust load capacity. Licensed machinists, maintenance technicians, and military-spec assembly professionals are the primary installers.
This internal retaining ring is suited for use in precision assemblies across aerospace, defense, industrial, and heavy equipment applications where military-specification hardware is required. The HO-162SS MPS meets multiple MS 16625 military specifications, making it appropriate for use in government and defense procurement applications as well as high-reliability commercial assemblies that reference these standards. It is sold individually but requires a minimum order quantity of 100 units.
Designed for use in any internal groove application with a 1.625-inch bore diameter where MS 16625-series military-specification snap rings are specified. Compatible with assemblies referencing MS 16625-4037, MS 16625-4050, MS 16625-4062, MS 16625-4075, MS 16625-4087, MS 16625-4100, MS 16625-4125, MS 16625-4137, MS 16625-4150, MS 16625-4162, and MS 16625-4187.
Internal snap retaining rings of this type are installed by qualified machinists or assembly technicians using appropriate internal snap ring pliers sized for the bore diameter. Verify groove dimensions against the specified groove width and depth tolerances before installation to ensure proper seating and rated load capacity. Do not over-stress the ring during installation by spreading it beyond the minimum required for bore entry. Always confirm the ring is fully seated in the groove before applying any thrust load to the assembly.
