The ROTOR CLIP HO-125ST MCD is a heavy-duty internal snap retaining ring engineered for precision retention in bored housings with a 1.25-inch bore diameter. Manufactured from 1060/1090 carbon steel with a cadmium finish, this ring delivers a Rockwell C hardness of 47 to 52 and a thrust load capacity of 4,250 pounds at the groove safety factor and 8,932 pounds at the ring safety factor. The ring measures 1.27mm (0.050 inches) thick with a groove width of 1.42mm (0.056 inches) and a groove depth of 1.02mm. It meets multiple Military Specifications and is suitable for high-load, precision-fit assemblies where dimensional control and material traceability are required.
This internal retaining ring is used in mechanical assemblies where a component must be axially retained inside a bored housing or cylinder. Typical applications include gearboxes, hydraulic cylinders, pumps, and industrial drive systems. The cadmium finish provides corrosion protection in demanding service environments. Internal retaining rings of this type are installed by licensed machinists or qualified mechanical technicians using appropriate internal snap ring pliers sized for the bore diameter. Always power down and de-energize any equipment before servicing assemblies containing retaining rings. Verify groove dimensions against the specified tolerances before installation to ensure proper seating and load transfer. Do not reuse a ring that has been removed from service, as the set and tension characteristics may be compromised.
