The ROTOR CLIP E-18ST MCD is an external E style retaining ring designed to secure components on shafts in assemblies where space is limited and fast installation is a priority. Built from SAE 1060-1090 stainless steel with a cadmium finish, this ring fits a 3/16 inch (0.1875 inch) shaft diameter with a groove diameter of 0.147 inches. The three-prong E style design allows the ring to be pushed onto a shaft groove without special pliers, making it a common choice for production assembly and field repair work. Machinists, maintenance technicians, and mechanical assemblers install this ring type across a wide range of precision fastening applications.
This retaining ring is suited for use in light mechanical assemblies, instrumentation, appliances, and small-equipment applications where an external ring is needed to retain a component on a grooved shaft. The cadmium plating provides corrosion resistance in moderate-exposure environments. The ring meets Military Specification MS 16633-1018 and conforms to SAE 1060-1090 and UNS G10600-G10900 standards, making it appropriate for applications with documented specification requirements. Minimum order quantity is 100 pieces.
Designed for use on grooved shafts with a 3/16 inch shaft diameter and a groove diameter of 0.147 inches conforming to SAE 1060-1090 and UNS G10600-G10900 groove standards, including applications governed by Military Specification MS 16633-1018.
This ring is installed by mechanical assemblers or maintenance technicians using finger pressure or a push-on tool aligned with the shaft groove. Ensure the groove dimensions match the ring specifications before installation; installing a ring on an out-of-tolerance groove can result in inadequate retention. Inspect the groove for burrs or debris before seating the ring. Cadmium-plated components should be handled in accordance with applicable safety guidelines due to the hazardous nature of cadmium.
