The ROTOR CLIP DE-5ST PD B100 is an external E style retaining ring engineered for metric shaft applications. It seats in a 5 mm groove diameter and accommodates shaft diameters ranging from 6 to 8 mm. Manufactured from 1060-1090 spring steel with a phosphate and oil finish, the ring delivers hardness in the 65-72 HR30N range for reliable retention under dynamic loads. The three-prong E style design allows for fast, tool-assisted installation and removal without disassembling the shaft assembly. Licensed electricians, millwrights, and mechanical technicians working on motors, gearboxes, and precision assemblies are the typical installers. This part is sold in a minimum order quantity of 100 units.
This retaining ring is suited for compact metric assemblies where axial retention is required on small-diameter shafts. Common applications include light-duty motors, instrumentation, pump assemblies, and medical device components where the ISO 13485.2015 standard may be a documentation requirement. The phosphate and oil finish provides a base layer of corrosion resistance appropriate for indoor mechanical environments. The ring thickness of 0.70 mm and groove width of 0.74 mm are consistent with DIN 6799 dimensional standards, making this a direct fit where that specification is called out on engineering drawings.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation retaining ring for metric shaft assemblies specifying a 5 mm groove diameter and 6 to 8 mm shaft diameter per DIN 6799.
Installation and removal of E style retaining rings should be performed by qualified mechanical technicians using proper external snap ring pliers sized for the prong holes. Always de-energize and lockout-tagout any rotating equipment before servicing shaft components. Inspect the groove dimensions for burrs or damage before seating the ring to ensure full engagement. Do not reuse a ring that has been overstressed or distorted during a previous removal.
