The ROTOR CLIP CG-137SJ is an external spiral retaining ring engineered for precise shaft retention in mechanical assemblies. Manufactured from AISI 302 stainless steel and finished with an oil coating, this ring seats into a machined groove on the outside diameter of a shaft to prevent axial movement of mounted components. The shaft diameter is 1-3/8 inches with a groove diameter of 1.291 inches. Ring thickness is 0.05 inches and groove width is 0.056 inches. It meets AISI 302, AMS-5866, and ISO 13485:2016 standards, making it appropriate for demanding industrial, medical device, and HVAC mechanical applications. Machinists, millwrights, and field technicians install this type of ring using standard retaining ring pliers.
This retaining ring is suited for use in rotating shaft assemblies, drive components, pump shafts, motor shafts, and similar equipment where a reliable external groove-mounted fastener is required. Its spiral design allows installation without special snap ring pliers in many configurations. The 302 stainless steel construction resists corrosion, making it suitable for wet or humid environments such as pumping systems and HVAC equipment. The minimum order quantity is 5 pieces, sold individually packaged.
Designed for external groove retention on shafts with a 1-3/8 inch diameter and a groove width of 0.056 inches. Suitable as a direct replacement or specification-matched component in assemblies requiring AISI 302 or AMS-5866 compliant spiral retaining rings.
Installation should be performed by a qualified mechanic or technician. De-energize and lock out all equipment before servicing any shaft assembly. Verify groove dimensions match the ring specifications before installation to ensure proper seating and axial load capacity. Spiral retaining rings can typically be wound into the groove by hand or with flat-nose pliers; do not over-stress the ring during installation.
