The ROMAC 286-090572 is a double strap service saddle designed for tapping 8-inch iron pipe (IP) water mains and distribution lines. The body is ductile iron coated with fusion bonded black nylon, giving it corrosion resistance in buried and wet environments. Two 304 stainless steel straps secure the saddle to the pipe, and an NBR rubber gasket seals the connection. The threaded 2-inch outlet accepts standard service taps. Working pressure is rated up to 350 psi. Licensed plumbers and waterworks contractors install this fitting on new taps and service reconnections in municipal and commercial water distribution systems.
This saddle fits 8-inch pipe with an outside diameter range of 8.63 inches to 9.05 inches. It is compatible with steel, cast iron, asbestos cement, plastic, and other common pipe materials found in water distribution infrastructure. The Style 202NS collection covers a broad size range from 2 inches through 30 inches pipe sizes, with outlet sizes available from 1/2 inch through 2-1/2 inches, making it a standard choice for waterworks service connections across residential and commercial municipal applications.
