The ROMAC 103-1330081 is a stainless steel tapping sleeve designed to create a branch outlet on an existing pressurized main without taking the system out of service. Built from 304 and 304L stainless steel with an SBR rubber gasket, it fits 12-inch pipe with an outside diameter range of 12.9 to 13.3 inches and accepts an 8-inch tap. The flanged outlet is drilled and recessed to ANSI Class 125 and 150 bolt patterns, allowing direct connection of standard tapping valves. The sleeve is fully passivated for enhanced corrosion resistance. NSF 372 certified and manufactured in the USA, it is installed by licensed plumbers and water distribution crews on municipal and industrial piping systems.
This tapping sleeve is suited for wet-tap applications on a wide range of pipe materials, including steel, cast iron, asbestos cement, and plastic. It is commonly used in municipal water distribution, industrial process piping, and fire protection systems where a live branch connection must be made to an active main. The 8-inch flanged outlet accommodates full-size tapping valves and cutters used in standard hot-tap procedures. Its stainless steel construction makes it appropriate for corrosive soil conditions and potable water service.
Designed for use on 12-inch outside diameter pipe within the 12.9 to 13.3 inch OD range, including steel, cast iron, asbestos cement, and plastic pipe. Outlet accepts standard tapping valves with ANSI Class 125 or 150 flanged connections.
Installation is performed by licensed plumbers or certified water distribution technicians following AWWA tapping procedures and applicable local codes. The existing main does not need to be depressurized for a hot-tap installation, but all personnel and equipment must be rated for the operating pressure, which must not exceed 200 psi. Verify OD of the existing pipe before ordering to confirm the sleeve range is appropriate. Use tapping valves and cutter assemblies rated for the full tap size and pressure class.
