The ROBROY INDUSTRIES GALCPLG1/2 is a galvanized steel rigid conduit coupling designed to join two sections of 1/2 inch rigid metal conduit (RMC) in a secure, threaded connection. At 0.5337 inches in length and weighing 0.12 pounds each, this compact fitting provides a low-profile joint that maintains conduit alignment and ground continuity across the connection. The galvanized finish delivers corrosion resistance suited to both indoor and outdoor installations. Licensed electricians and electrical contractors install this coupling as a standard component in rigid conduit systems where mechanical protection of conductors is required.
This coupling is used in residential, commercial, and light industrial electrical installations wherever 1/2 inch rigid galvanized conduit is specified. Typical applications include exposed conduit runs on walls, ceilings, or structural steel, as well as installations in wet or damp locations where the galvanized coating provides adequate environmental protection. The threaded connection style is consistent with standard RMC fittings, making it compatible with conduit cut and threaded on a pipe threader to NPT specifications.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard fitting for 1/2 inch trade size rigid galvanized metal conduit systems using threaded NPT-style connections.
Installation must be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with NEC Article 344 governing rigid metal conduit. De-energize the circuit and verify zero voltage before working on any conduit section carrying conductors. Thread both conduit ends fully into the coupling and apply appropriate conduit thread compound or tape to ensure a secure, weathertight connection in damp or wet rated locations. Avoid over-tightening, which can crack the galvanized coating and compromise corrosion protection at the joint.
