The ROBERT BOSCH TOOL GROUP NKST20 is a short auger bit engineered for wood drilling in applications where embedded nails are a constant hazard. Part of the Daredevil Nailkiller series, this bit measures 1-1/4 inches in diameter with a 7.5-inch overall length and a 7/16-inch hex shank. Dual cutting edges balance drilling force while making nail cutting significantly easier, and the reinforced tip is built to absorb repeated nail impacts without premature failure. A reamer edge improves both entry and exit hole quality, reducing tearout on framing, rough carpentry, and retrofit drilling work.
This bit is suited for residential and light commercial framing, electrical rough-in, plumbing rough-in, and any trade application requiring clean, repeatable holes through dimensional lumber that may contain fasteners. The 4-inch flute length and open-faced flute design promote aggressive chip evacuation, keeping the bit moving efficiently through dense or dirty wood. Electricians, plumbers, and general contractors who drill through existing framing will find the nail-tolerant construction reduces bit changeouts on the job.
Designed as an OEM-style auger bit for use in standard 7/16-inch hex-drive drill chucks and compatible with most corded and cordless drills accepting hex shank auger bits.
Installation of this bit is performed by electricians, plumbers, and carpenters during rough-in or retrofit drilling operations. Ensure the drill is powered off and the chuck is fully released before inserting or removing the bit. When drilling through existing walls or framing, verify that no live electrical conductors, pressurized lines, or structural members beyond the intended target are in the drill path. Wear appropriate eye protection, as nail contact can eject metal fragments at high velocity.
