The ROBERT BOSCH TOOL GROUP DLSB1013 is a 1-inch diameter spade bit from the Daredevil line, measuring 16 inches in total length with a 15-inch drilling depth. It is designed for boring large-diameter holes through wood framing, studs, and similar materials in residential and light commercial construction. The full cone threaded tip pulls the bit into the material for fast, consistent starts without wandering. Spur and reamer tips at the cutting edges produce cleaner hole perimeters, reducing tearout on exit. The 1/4-inch hex shank features a power groove designed to reduce slippage in standard hex-accepting drill chucks and quick-change systems.
This bit is suited for electricians, plumbers, and general contractors drilling through wood members to route conduit, pipe, or cable. The 15-inch drilling depth allows it to pass through multiple stacked framing members or thick engineered lumber in a single pass. The contoured paddle geometry is designed to clear chips aggressively, which helps maintain cutting speed in deep-hole applications where chip packing is a common issue. Each package contains 5 bits.
Designed for use with any drill or driver accepting a standard 1/4-inch hex shank. Suitable for boring through softwood, hardwood, and engineered lumber framing members.
Electricians and plumbers typically use spade bits of this size when drilling through wood framing members to route conduit, cable, or pipe. Confirm that bit engagement in the drill chuck is fully seated before use to prevent shank pullout under load. When drilling near structural members, observe applicable local building codes and NEC or IPC clearance requirements for bored holes. Eye protection and secure workpiece clamping are standard practice when boring large-diameter holes.
