The ROBBJACK XF-602-16-030 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill engineered for high-performance finishing operations in demanding materials. It features a 1/2 inch diameter with a 0.03 inch corner radius, six flutes, and a high-helix geometry that promotes smooth chip evacuation and surface finish quality. The tool carries an AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride) PVD coating applied via physical vapor deposition, which extends tool life when cutting steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium. Machinists and toolroom operators working in close-tolerance environments rely on this series for its micrograin carbide substrate and consistent dimensional tolerances across production runs.
This end mill is suited for finishing passes in CNC machining centers where tight tolerances and fine surface finishes are required. Its single-end, centercutting design supports both peripheral and plunge cutting. The Weldon flat shank provides a positive, slip-resistant interface with standard toolholders. Primary workpiece materials include steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium, making it a strong fit for aerospace, die and mold, and general precision machining applications where corner breakdown and tool deflection must be minimized.
Designed for use with standard Weldon flat-style toolholders accepting a 1/2 inch shank diameter. Part of the ROBBJACK XF series of high-performance solid carbide end mills intended for finishing operations in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or toolroom technicians. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before inserting or removing the tool. Seat the Weldon flat fully against the toolholder set screw and torque the set screw per the toolholder manufacturer's specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning any finishing operation, as excessive runout will accelerate edge wear and degrade surface finish.
